“I think we focused too much on video in 2022 and pushed the rankings too far. Basically, we showed too much video and not enough photos.”
She also explained that they have been working hard to balance the different formats of Instagram: stories, Reels, carousels, photographs.
The idea is to have a balanced format , rather than video being the sole focus.
Apparently, these efforts to restore balance are producing favorable results.
